AHWA Flash and Short Story Competition
The Australian Horror Writers Association's annual contest for unpublished short fiction. Flash fiction up to 100 words; short stories from 1001 to 8000 words. One story per author per category.
Winners in each category received paid publication in AHWA´s magazine, Midnight Echo, and an engraved plaque.

This competition is dedicated to the memory of Marshall Allan Hill, who was born sleeping on 24 August, 2010.
Submissions closed 1 June.
The winner and highly commended stories will be announced on 24 August.
The winner will receive a certificate and the story will be published on the Jelli-Beanz Publishing blog and be printed in the Packed Lunch anthology. Highly commended entrants will receive certificates.

The CALEB prize for writing ‘with appeal for, and beyond, Christian readers' by Australasian writers is now open.
Books published between 1 January and 30 June are eligible in three sections: fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
The main prize is $1000, with subsidiary prizes also on offer. There is a separate section for unpublished manuscripts, offering publication.
